Former Colorado State Patrol Child Car Seat Help Line Connecting To Phone-Sex Line

Parents trying to get information from the Colorado State Patrol’s child car seat help line have been getting a saucy surprise. The 1-877-LUV-TOTS number (a number which they have not used in years) was connecting to an adult phone-sex line instead of car seat safety info.

Awkward.

I saw this story from KDVR and it cracked me up. I tried calling the number this morning and it was disconnected, so I am assuming the powers that be are working to fix the issue. (The number has been around since 2002, but they’ve had their fair share of technical glitches, none of them quite as odd as this one, I’m sure.

According to KDVR, CSP stopped using the 877 number in 2008, and told all of their partners to remove any documentation or mention of the number back in 2012, but in the digital age, it seems nothing ever truly gets deleted or removed and there are still documents or websites out there touting that number as a resource for car seat info.

Sometime in the last two years that number was turned into a phone-sex line by whoever got the number and has led to who knows how many awkward phone moments.
