Ford F-250 Crew Cab Has Highest Theft Rate Of Any 2010-2012 Vehicle

Did you remember you lock your car? This week the Highway Loss Data Institute released data about what cars fall victim to theft and the four-wheel drive Ford F-250 crew cab pickup came out on top.

What other cars made their list?

All ten vehicles in the top ten were trucks and SUVs including the Ford F-250. Chevy Silverado, Chevy Avalanche, GMC Sierra, Ford F-350, Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Suburban, GMC Yukon and Chevy Tahoe.

Now, these is a bit of controversy with these numbers. (Isn't there always?)

From this data, many pickup claims result from the theft of equipment from a truck bed, and not necessarily a theft of the truck itself. ("HLDI's data don't distinguish theft of vehicle contents or components from theft of a whole vehicle.")

According to Fox News, a separate survey from The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration put he Dodge Charger is the most stolen vehicle.

Now what cars did HLDI list as having the least problems with theft?
