For FoCo Enlisting Help of Community in Pandemic Recovery Plan

Throughout the pandemic, there were several things at the forefront of everyone's mind. One conversation that was constant over the last 16 months was the economic impact and toll COVID-19 was going to take on cities.

While the pandemic hit several areas of Fort Collins pretty hard, it also showed how resilient the community there is. With the resiliency of the city, and now $28.1 million they are receiving in funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, For FoCo wants to hear from the community about what should be incorporated into their Fort Collins Recovery Plan. Fort Collins as a whole has always valued community input, and this situation is no different.

The funds Fort Collins is receiving can be spent over the next three and a half years, and the City has already started developing their recovery plan.

For FoCo recognizes that recovery is a multi-year process and that shifting back completely and immediately to pre-pandemic living is not a realistic or effective approach. The vision For FoCo lists out puts emphasis on wanting all Fort Collins residents and businesses being able to participate in a vibrant and inclusive future.

For FoCo has made a point that reaching out to hear the community's opinions is important so they receive input from a diverse community to have the best chance at a long-term recovery plan.

This way, they can be sure that policies and practices are all-encompassing and aren't perpetuating a model of recovery that helps some parts of the economy while other areas and groups continue to stay the same or worsen.

It's clear that in order to move forward, Fort Collins has to work together.
