Foods That Help Battle the Flu
The flu is definitely running rampant right now, and Larimer County has been one of the hardest hit counties in not only Colorado but also the nation.
I was talking to a friend of mine who recently had the flu and he said the following recipe made him feel MUCH better as the day went on. Ever tried this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chicken Tea
INGREDIENTS
1 quart chicken broth (preferably homemade)
1 head garlic, smashed
1 bunch thyme, washed
PREPARATION
Place the garlic and thyme in a heat-resistant container. Bring the chicken broth to a boil and pour it over garlic and thyme, as if you’re steeping tea. Let it steep for a minute or two, then drink while piping hot.

I'll be the first to admit, this doesn't sound appetizing at all. When I think of tea...I think of Green Tea. Lipton Tea. Or Sweet Tea. But...CHICKEN TEA??
If you're battling the flu or know someone who is, give this recipe a try as I have been told that it works. And if I unfortunately come down with it this year, I may have to try this myself!
