Folds of Honor Presents the Patriot Day Golf Tournament on Sept. 14
If you're looking to golf for a good cause, then be sure to register for the Patriot Day Golf Tournament at Ptarmigan Country Club on September 14.
Presented by Folds of Honor, a non-profit started in 2007 by Lt Col Dan Rooney, the event helps raise money to provide educational scholarships to the children of fallen or wounded veterans.
"The patriots of Northern Colorado can get out [on the 14th] and show their patriotism and meet the people that have deserved our respect and give back to those folks," said Mike Fassi, veteran and event coordinator of the tournament, in our "Tuned In to NoCo" interview. "We want to make sure that we honor their sacrifice and educate their legacy. That's the goal here."
Participants can arrive at the course at noon to practice for a 1:30 tee time before an evening celebration at 6 p.m. If golf isn't your thing, you can still donate to the cause or sign up to sponsor a hole here.
Each hole will represent a scholarship recipient from Colorado. Attendees will also be able to gain inspiration from veterans and those benefiting from the Folds of Honor program.
"We're not going let their [veterans'] kids have to worry about where the money is going come from to go to school next year," said Fassi. "If you're a patriot in Northern Colorado, and you want to come out and do something for veterans and their families, this is a great opportunity."
COVID-19 precautions will be in place for the event. You can register for the tournament here.
