Welcome to First Play on The Point! Every weeknight at 6:20 p.m. you're going to hear a brand new song that we haven't played before. We like to throw in a little bit of 'tomorrow's best music' to go along with 'today's best.'
We'd love to hear your feedback on the songs we play here. Let us know which ones you love in the comments below!
Mary Lambert with "Secrets." A Seattle-based singer-songwriter and spoken word artist. She has worked with Mackelmore and Ryan Lews on "Same Love." Lambert taught herself how to play piano and write songs at age 6, as an escape from her traumatic and abusive household.
Matt Nathanson with "Headphones." An American singer-songwriter whose work is a blend of folk and rock music. His hits include "Come On Get Higher," and "Kinks Shirt."
Luke Bryan with "Play It Again." An American country singer who began his career in the mid-2000's, writing songs for Travis Tritt and Billy Currington. He has since become a Multi-Award winning artist.
Echosmith with "Cool Kids." American alt-pop band formed in February 2009 in California. They are comprised of four siblings. Their first single was featured in a promo for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Influences were wide, including Fleetwood Mac, U2 and Coldplay.
Brantley Gilbert with "Bottoms Up." An American country rock singer-songwriter from Georgia. He won the ACM for New Male Artist Award in 2013. He also co-wrote Jason Aldean's "My Kinda Party and "Dirt Road Anthem."
