If you want to be fashion-forward and socially conscious, then keep reading, because I've got the brand for you.

Adventurist Backpack Co., started by Kelly Belknap and his wife Matilda in 2017, creates high-quality and affordable backpacks that help fight hunger in the United States.

For every backpack purchased, the company provides 25 meals to families in need across the country. These meals are an absolute necessity, considering that 41 million Americans are struggling with hunger every year.

"Via Feeding America, we're able to partner with over 200 food banks across the country," said Belknap. "There is so much food waste in the country and Feeding America is able to buy this excess food that farmers can't sell."

Through their partnership with Feeding America and money raised from the backpacks, Belknap is able to distribute this excess food to families in need. So far, the company has provided families with almost 90,000 (and counting) meals.

While the company's primary mission is fighting hunger, the Belknaps also work to ensure that their backpacks are fashionable, durable, and affordable.

"The backpack industry has historically high markups... but there are only two ingredients, fabric and zippers," said Belknap. "We realized that you could make a high-quality, fashionable backpack for less than $100."

And that is exactly what the couple did. Since the idea was born in 2017, the company has continued to sell reasonably priced items in the minimalist style, from backpacks to beanies. Currently, items range in price from $15 to $85.

Aside from their website, the backpacks are available in stories like Urban Outfitters and the CSU bookstore. But wherever you buy them, every backpack will help fight hunger.

"[We] aren't here to just talk about problems, we're here to solve them with the resources we have available," said Belknap. "No one should be going hungry in 2019, and a backpack shouldn't cost $100."
