While we are all still trying to heal and wrap our minds around the tragic death of our own John Jacoby, we are also still actively trying to find who did this horrible act. We ask our entire community to come together and keep your eyes and ears open for any information that could help in solving this terrible crime.

John was such a bright light in the community and that was evident by the turn out for John's funeral and the outpouring of love from our town and the surrounding areas. I had the honor of speaking at the funeral and received a wonderful letter from the family for the words I spoke from my heart. I also received a letter from the family to the Town of Windsor that they wanted me to share with you.

"Dear Windsor,

We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the people of Windsor for the love you have shared with us since Johnny was unexpectedly taken from us on May 18, 2015.  While there are no words to express how saddened we are, there are also not enough words to express how grateful we are for all of you and the encouragement, support and prayers you have bestowed upon our family.  Because of you, we have faith that justice will be brought and we have hope that Johnny’s legacy will continue.

We would especially like to thank the following people and organizations for what you have done to make this tragedy more bearable: Mayor John Vasquez and the Town of Windsor, Mark Long and Marks Funeral Home, Chief Michaels and the Windsor Police Department, Chief Brady, Chief Blackwill and Battalion Chief Vess and the Windsor Severance Fire Department, Karen Trussler and the Windsor School District, Class of 1986, Bank of Colorado, King Soopers, Pastor Fred Evanson and Faith United Church of Christ, News Media including The Coloradoan, Greeley Tribune and Channel 7, Brian Gary and K-99, Debbie Martin and Flowers from the Farm, Greeley Fire Department, Bethesda Senior Living Communities, PVH EMS, Skyview Elementary Staff and Jennifer Probst for Go Fund Me donations.  We also thank our family and friends near and far, and Johnny’s friends and coworkers, without each of you we would be lost.

We’d like to thank all those who contributed to the John Jacoby Memorial Fund.  These funds will be distributed to John’s favorite charities.

As Pastor Fred said, we can all be a little more like Johnny.  We hope that his legacy can continue by each of us passing on a smile and brightening another’s cloud with a rainbow by being an ambassador of happiness.

 Thank you,

The Jacoby Family"
