Veteran's Day is less than two weeks away, and Snack Attack! Specialty Sandwiches and Brews is celebrating in a big way.

On the weekend of November 9-10, the local sandwich shop is hosting the Vets4Life CommUNITY on Tap Benefit, an annual event dedicated to helping veterans in Northern Colorado.

The weekend kicks off on Saturday with a 5K at Odell Brewing, followed by a yoga session and some delicious food and brews. Saturday night offers a raffle and silent auction back at Snack Attack.

The event finishes up on Sunday morning with a donut and beer pairing, brought to you by FoCo DoCo.

Tickets for each of these individual events are $20, with majority of the proceeds going to Vets4Life, a non-profit organization working to improve the quality of life for veterans and their families.

The charity is very personal to the owners of Snack Attack, Shawn and Lauren Storeby. Shawn served in the Marine Corps for 9 years, and the couple now does everything they can to help veterans.

"We need more of these types of programs to help veterans," said Lauren. "It's fun watching them [Vets4Life] grow and...get more people jumping on board with them."

The Storebys started Snack Attack two years ago after moving to Fort Collins from California. While researching Northern Colorado, they fell in love with the town and decided to move there and start their own business.

Aside from serving sandwiches and craft beers, the couple strives to use their platform to give back to the community, through fundraisers such as the Vets4Life Benefit.

"We're not just a restaurant," said Lauren. "We like to do lots of activities and events and bring people together."
