Dumb Criminal of the Day: Purse Thief Targets the Wrong Christmas Party

A 46-year-old Pennsylvania woman was booked for theft and related charges after being caught red-handed trying to steal items out of a Christmas party guest’s purse. The lack of criminal brain-power comes in because this particular party happened to be a holiday shindig for a police bicycle patrol unit.

Oops.

According to UPI, officers from a bicycle patrol unit and their families had gathered for a Christmas party and were waiting to be seated at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Philadelphia.

Allegedly, one of the officers spotted the woman reaching into someone else’s purse and moments later she was surrounded by eight police officers.

It sounds like she had the ‘Home Alone’ bandits help her cook up this scheme.

I’m thinking our purse-digger never learned the ‘crime doesn't pay’ lesson, as she has 59 previous arrests. I'm guessing Santa had her on his naughty list long before this incident.
