Despite the fact that many Colorado counties still have strict travel restrictions, state officials are warning drivers, as always, to never drive drunk.

At this time last year, 323 motorists were cited for impaired driving, according to a press release. The Colorado Department of Transportation's heightened safety enforcement will be in place from Friday, May 22, through Tuesday, May 26.

As a reminder, the legal blood alcohol limit is 0.05 percent for driving while ability-impaired, and 0.08 percent for driving under the influence. If you're a first-time offender, you could face jail time of up to a year.

Memorial Day is a day to celebrate the sunshine and the beautiful Colorado weather, but CDOT wants to remind you that it's also a day to celebrate our nation's military personnel. In honor of our nation's heroes, let's stay safe and never drive drunk!
