Fellow Whovians rejoice. We've all known the The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special is happening on November 23rd, but we won't have to wait for it to air in our own time zones. The special will be simulcast at the same time around the globe.BBC America has confirmed that "The Day of the Doctor” will air the same day, everywhere.

Announced today, BBC AMERICA will simulcast the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special, The Day of the Doctor, in the U.S. on November 23, 2013. For the first time ever, the world’s longest running and most successful sci-fi series will be broadcast simultaneously to millions of viewers worldwide in a global simulcast...

In addition, BBC AMERICA will be dedicating an entire week to Doctor Who in November, including the new film An Adventure in Space and Time, marathons and new specials to be announced.

On top of the worldwide TV broadcast, BBC AMERICA will announce in the coming weeks details of select 3D screenings of the anniversary episode in theaters in the U.S.

I have a feeling Twitter had better  gear up for a big day on November 23rd. All of the 'live-tweets' from an entire planet full of Doctor Who fans getting to watch the 50th anniversary special at the same time might just break the Internet.

Now, I just need to make sure I sit down to watch it at the right time. If the 50th anniversary special airs at 7PM in the UK, that mean it would air at 2PM on the East Coast, 11AM on the West Coast, and at noon here in the good ol' mountain standard time zone.

Geronimo!
