Derek Rants About The Past. Blog #1

I know that I am not that old, but I can still rant about how good things were back when I was younger. And hopefully this will be a continuing thing from me. I have a lot of stuff that irks me about now and days.

In this issue: MTV, VH1

Why did they stop showing music videos? A question I am sure many of us have asked ourselves and friends. Of course they didn't completely stop showing music videos. If you want to watch them you have to stay up til about 3am and til 4 or 5 they show music videos. Kind of crappy I know. But, what is even worse is the shows that they show when not showing music videos. Anyone that knows me knows I am not a big fan of trash TV. I think it is a waste of time and it shows that the human race is doomed. Trash to me is stuff like "Teen Mom", "Jersey Shore" and others of those nature. My main question is, why are shows like that on MTV? MTV stands for music television. MUSIC is in the title! Not, "Come here to loose brain cells." I remember growing up I would watch MTV and they would show some music videos, then do an interview with a band and then do the music news!  I think MTV should change its name so it is no longer associated with music. At least VH1 shows a bit more music videos and occasionally they show movies that are about the music industry.

All in all the point that I am trying to get at is, MTV should either bring back music videos and music news or change their name. I am just glad that I have youtube for music videos.
