Denver Mayor Michael Hancock spoke out about the Black Lives Matter protests this weekend, and urged participants to get tested for the virus.

In a press conference on May 31, Hancock said:

We did see and have witnessed people demonstrate in our community peacefully, as well as after hours when it’s not so peaceful — without face coverings.

Because of that, the Mayor is worried that in the middle of speaking out, some have forgotten that we're still in the middle of a pandemic.

He also reminded listeners that Denver residents can get tested for free at the Pepsi Center next weekend, June 5 through the 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to CBS Denver, Hancock said "it is quick, It is painless and at least we can use that opportunity to make sure that we continue to blunt the spread of the coronavirus."
