For nearly 20 years people in Denver have enjoyed some delicious gourmet hot dogs, but in late 2024, things aren't looking bright.

It starts as a great "American" story, where a man has talent and a dream, and sees that dream come true; then, the dream turns sour and things go from bad to worse. It's definitely not because the talent wasn't there.

Everyone who had one (including myself) enjoyed his dogs; while his business isn't what it was, he still is.

Biker Jim's Closes Denver Location, Won't Be Back to Coors Field

It was in June of 2024, that it was announced that the "Jim" in Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs had stepped away form the legendary business he began in 2005. His departure was related to who had taken over operation of the business, and how it was being run.

Employees and bills weren't being paid, including getting kicked out of Ball Arena for lack of fulfilling a contract. It became a situation where Jim had tried to reach higher but ended up getting punched in the gut, by doing so.

December of 2024 Brings Bad News for Biker Jim's Fans

Fans of those delicious gourmet dogs were saddened to find out that Biker Jim's wouldn't be headed back to Coors Field for the 2025 season, and then found out that the stand-alone spot on Larimer Street (which had been a "go-to" spot for over a decade) was shuttered, due to eviction, according to the Denver Post.

It would appear that only the food carts (the original Biker Jim's business model) are in operation, though that is uncertain.

Biker Jim himself, Jim Pittenger, still creates great food not far from that (now closed) Biker Jim's on Larimer.
