It's a new age- meeting someone via a dating app. Though things change, some remain the same- as in, you need to be careful.

Denver's Channel 7 has the story on how in 2018, more than 50 people were victimized by someone they had first met through a dating app. Crimes ranging from theft and assault, up to (34 percent of the total) crimes being classified as rape.

That doesn't mean you WON'T find a nice person on those apps; but it does mean that there ARE people on those apps, NOT there looking for love.

Channel 7 reports that Denver Police advise folks that they should do some research on the person they're going to meet, do it in a public place and drive your own car to that location.
