Colorado State University's College of Business is now amping up for a music business program for students interested in careers in the music industry.

The program, the university announced in a press release, 'will equip students with the necessary knowledge and real-world experience to pursue music industry careers.'

Chuck Morris, a longtime artist manager and concert promoter, will be launching the program, with courses beginning in the fall of 2020.

Morris was a Ph.D. student at University of Colorado when he dropped out to pursue music in 1968. He went on to manage and co-own Tugali's in Boulder, bringing in bands like The Doobie Brothers and ZZ Top (to name just a couple).

He also booked an up-and-coming '70s rock band called The Eagles.

In more recent years, Morris has booked shows for the Bluebird Theater, Red Rocks and more after creating AEG Presents Rocky Mountains. He remains with AEG as a consultant and chairman emeritus.

Now, he's going back to college... this time, as a Ram.

'In my 48-year career as a promoter and manager, I’ve always just followed my gut,' Morris said in a press release from CSU. 'After guest lecturing through the years at countless colleges, I always knew I wanted to start a music program for a Colorado university. My dream is finally coming true.'

The university, which did not have any type of music business program previously (most in Colorado exist in Denver), said that this program is open to all CSU students, not just those who are studying business or music.

Morris, a 2018 inductee of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame, told CSU that educating students will be 'the crown jewel' of his career.
