Sater had been reportedly skiing alone on the morning of Sunday, June 13 in the area of Sundance Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park, as bystanders witnessed the man slide uncontrollably about 400-500 feet. Witnesses on scene tried to render aid as they attempted to contact park officials.

Park rangers responded to reports of the unconscious man on Sundance Mountain on a north facing aspect midway between Trail Ridge Road and Old Fall River Road later that day; unfortunately, the 66-year-old Loveland skier died from his injuries.

Sater's body was flown to a helispot in the Upper Beaver Meadows area of the park by Northern Colorado Interagency Helitak shortly after being recovered.

An official news release from the Larimer County Coroner's Office said Sater’s death was ruled as an accident. He died from blunt force injuries due to the accident.

It was just last weekend that another body - the body of a 33-year-old woman from Arvada - was recovered from Rocky Mountain National Park, as per reports from the National Park Service.

The woman’s body was recovered below the outlet of the Loch in Rocky Mountain National Park on Sunday (June 20) following an operation by the park’s search and rescue team.

The woman has yet to be identified; her identity will be released after next of kin are notified.
