Copper Wire Thief Busted After Leaven DNA On Stolen Beer Cans
When you’re breaking into a home to steal thousands of dollars in copper, what the big deal about stealing a couple of beers as well? Just ask this guy from New York who was busted after police matched his DNA with DNA he left behind on some beers he drank during his robbery.
According to The Denver Channel, the 29-year-old was stealing copper piping from a vacant rental home. During his heist he found a case of unopened beers in the basement and decided to help himself to a few of them.
The DNA he left on the cans was matched to him by police. I guess this evil genius was thwarted by great 'drinkability?'
I think modern crime-scene technology is making a lot of petty-criminals look pretty stupid these days.
