A 51-year-old man is being charged with first-degree murder and other charges in connection with a woman who was found dead in a Colorado motel. According to 9 News, Gary Dodd rented a room at the Blue Sky Motel in Lakewood with 34-year-old Lisa Marie Atteberry last week. On Friday (June 17, 2016), the manager of the motel located at 6205 W. Colfax Avenue, discovered Atteberry's body and contacted authorities.

The circumstances around Atteberry's death was described as "suspicious," and the cause of her death has been listed as "inconclusive" after an autopsy and authorities are waiting for the results of the toxicology exam.

After an investigation that included search warrants and interviews with friends and family, a warrant was issued for Dodd's arrest. Ironically, Dodd turned himself into authorities on his own volition later that evening for an unrelated warrant. Currently, Dodd is being charged with first-degree murder, violation of a restraining order and domestic violence.
