Colorado Homeless Given Free Marijuana for Christmas
A Denver nonprofit hit the streets Christmas Eve to raise awareness about homelessness - by handing out free joints.
Cannabis Can gave away 1,000 free, pre-rolled joints to transients in Denver Christmas Eve in an attempt to educate people about homelessness while raising money to buy several RVs and provide restrooms for those in need.
Volunteers also handed out fliers and business cards with information on how to donate.
"A lot of people we spoke with really were just like, 'If I had regular access to a shower, and a haircut my life would be so much better - I'd have so much more opportunity," said Nick Dicenzo, founder of Cannabis Can. "'Cannabis can make a difference,' is kind of what we're standing for."
