So, the debut party for the 2013 Colorado Firefighter Calender is this Friday night in Denver. Derek and I invited a few of the calendar models (who are actual firefighters) in to talk about the event and to compete in a few physical challenges to see how Radio DJ's stack up against Firefighters. (Place your bets now!)

Read on to see the shenanigans and to get details about the event.

We all know that sitting in a radio studio doesn't take all that much of a physical toll on the body. Being a firefighter, on the other hand, requires a lot of physical conditioning. Derek and I challenged Erik Pingel and Rebecca Clark to a few challenges: Push ups, a Slurpee chug-off and a good old-fashioned foot race.

Egos were crushed, sweat was dripped, shirts were removed, and shoes were lost. And the challenges ended in Derek and I being carried around the parking lot like rag dolls as our fire-fighting heroes demonstrated the 'fireman's carry'. Check out the video!

Now on to the important stuff like helping the Children's Hospital Burn Center. The Colorado Firefighter Calender is a charitable cause that benefits that very group. Both Rebecca and Erik

both have children that spent more than their fair share of time in pediatric care in hospitals and have taken the cause to heart. Rebecca said, "We always get to see the trauma side of burn victims all the time. Finally getting to see kids who go through that trauma on the other side when they recover is nice. Knowing our efforts and what we're doing helps these kids get to go through the burn camp experience is very rewarding. "

So, there you have it. If you didn't have Friday night plans, it's time to make them. If you ever needed an excuse to go party with a bunch of shirtless firemen and firewomen the calendar debut party is a great excuse, because of the great cause it is benefiting.
