Apple picking, leaf peeping or pumpkin patching — however you spend your weekend, we're looking at a beautiful start to October in the Fort Collins area. Here's your basic b**ch forecast, courtesy of me (and the National Weather Service).

According to the National Weather Service, the cool front that arrived on Wednesday will stick around for the foreseeable week. On Saturday, Fort Collins is expected to be partly sunny with a high of 69 degrees, and a small chance of showers in the afternoon. OK, I know I said 'perfect' fall weekend, but that's only if you don't let afternoon showers dampen your spirits. For me, it's the perfect time for a cozy sweater and a warm chai. (Do you hate me yet? At least I didn't say #PSL)

Sunday will be clearer, with the forecast calling for sunny — all day — with a high of 71 degrees. There's only a slight chance of showers after 7 p.m. Monday is expected to be the same. You can see the full forecast from the National Weather Service here.

This weekend will also be a great time to see some changing leaves in the high country. The experts say 'peak season' in Rocky Mountain National Park and the I-70 corridor is only until September 30. But, I went to Georgetown last week, and while I saw some vibrant yellows and oranges, there were still some trees that hadn't changed yet. Here's when and where to watch the leaves change in Colorado.
