Boyd Lake State Park Set to Open for Boating This Month
Boyd Lake State Park will open for boating on Friday, March 9 at 8 a.m. The current water level at Boyd Lake State Park is 47 feet and the courtesy dock will be installed by March 9 (weather permitting).
Boat Inspections
Boaters are reminded that boat inspections for aquatic nuisance species are mandatory at most waters in the state, including state parks and state wildlife areas. Hand-launched, non-motorized boats such as canoes or kayaks are allowed on the water and are not subject to inspection. The Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) vessel inspection station hours are:
- March: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- April: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- May: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
If boats wish to launch outside of the inspection hours they must be pre-inspected for ANS prior to launching. Boaters are encouraged to obtain a seal with receipt when leaving in order to launch when inspectors are unavailable.
