Builder of Colorado’s Famously Unique Bishop Castle Has Died
A Colorado legend who spent much of his adult life building a castle, sadly passed at the age of 80. He leaves behind an enduring symbol of a person's determination of seeing a dream through.
Who's to know exactly how many people from Coloradans and from across the country have ventured to Bishop Castle to behold its wonder. I would bet many people, like myself didn't even know Bishop's first name, but that's not to say that we don't care.
What will become of his castle now that he's gone?
Colorado's Bishop Castle Builder Dies
It really is a stunning achievement that Jim Bishop pulled off, this eye-catching, wonderous castle that you can see along the highway. For over five decades, Bishop worked on that castle, creating what would become a Colorado destination.
I've never been to Bishop Castle, so I find it amazing to find out know, after his passing, that Bishop never charged for entry to the castle; donations, however, are accepted.
While it is free to visit, it does cost $500 to hold your wedding at Bishop Castle; I wonder how many couples have done so, over the years.
Though it's too soon to say exactly what happens now with Bishop Castle, I would suspect that his man-made wonder will be well taken care of; it's too astounding to stop having people visit it.

I'm eager to see the next chapter for Bishop's achievement; he'll definitely go down as one of Colorado's most-notable people.
