This weekend, it will be a battle between 3-D barbarians and vampires for the top spot at the box office. Three new movies will be added to theaters this Friday, offering everything from cowboys and aliens to the Smurfs in 3-D. The first is the Jon Favreau-directed ‘Cowboys & Aliens,’ in which Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford team to fight off – you guessed it – an alien-invasion in 1873 Arizona.

MTV announced Thursday that Adele, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne will each perform at its annual Video Music Awards in August. This will mark the first VMA performance for Adele, who is up for multiple awards, including Video of the Year, for her chart-topping single, ‘Rolling in the Deep.’

Lady Gaga was apparently in the small town of Springfield, Nebraska this week shooting a music video for her alleged upcoming single, ‘You and I.’ According to PopCrush, members of the music video crew let it slip that Gaga was filming a video for the slow-burning ballad, in which she sings about her “cool Nebraska guy.”

These days, British singer Adele is rolling in the dough. According to Billboard, Adele’s sophomore effort, ’21,’ has officially hit the 1 million digital sales mark, becoming only the second CD to do so this year, after Eminem’s ‘Recovery.’ Even better: The 21-year-old singer has surpassed Eminem’s digital sales, with 1,017,000 copies purchased to his 1,005,000.
