An iPhone 5 Could Cost $800, What Else Could You Spend That Money On?

I just stumbled on an article that said the new iPhone 5 could come with an $800 price tag!

*Gasp*

In a nation full of people who are griping about gas being over $3 per gallon, I'm not sure how well that news would go over.

Apple has upgraded the iPhone every year since it first hit the market in 2007, and has done so in time for the busy end-of-the-year shopping season, history says Apple will roll out the so-called iPhone 5 sometime in the next few weeks...And on Thursday, the “Big Deal” involving Apple was a rumor that the iPhone 5 will come with an $800 price tag.

Now, keep in mind this all all speculation because Apple tries (and often fails) to keeping all of the specs, prices, and pertinent information under wraps. I just can't many people shelling out a couple of weeks pay for a new mobile phone.

And according to TIME, you're likely to pay around $200 for one with a new contract. (Just don't break your phone!)

What else could you get for $800? How about:

• A 1-cent smartphone, a Tablet computer, and a laptop? Buy all those and you'd still have enough money left over to take that special someone out to a couple of nice dinners.
• You could buy a MacBook Air that has a price tag rumored to be $799.
• A 1992 Chevy Cavalier.
• A horse.
• 446 Doritos Locos Tacos.
• 47 Captain America action figures.
