‘American Reunion’- Movie Review Monday [VIDEO]

I love it when movies can trigger your nostalgia nerve and bring back the fun that made the original so much fun. 'American Reunion' did just that. I was a fan of the 'American Pie 2' and 'American Wedding' but seeing as this was the 4th sequel in the series, I was a little worried. I know that there are other 'American Pie' movies, but to me those don't count. The only original person in them is Jim's dad and the stories really have nothing to do with the original.

I have to say that the 4th installment is my new favorite in the series. 'American Reunion' brings back everybody from the original and has them get back together in their home town for their high school reunion.  The original came out in '99 so honestly the reunion should have happened in '09 but the movie did a good job briefly talking about that.

They brought back some of the music from the first one and they referenced the first one quite a bit. They also did a good job talking about how different it was in '99 compared to now. One of my favorite lines is a high schooler is listening to the Spice Girls and says "I love classic rock."

Most sequels seem to drop the ball with living up to the first one. This one does a great job doing everything that made the first one great and then some. It has the hi-jinx and fun as well as a message.
