After Almost 60 Years the Downtown Safeway in Greeley is Closing Down
It's very sad. After almost 60 years, a business is leaving Downtown Greeley. Safeway will close later this month. According to the Greeley Tribune, the store on 11th Ave. will close June 21st.
Safeway is currently negotiating a merger with Albertson’s, but company officials say the move had nothing to do with the merger. It was a business decision. Safeway officials informed employees of the move last week, most were moved to other Safeway stores.
Greeley’s Downtown Safeway opened in 1957.
