Eight Colorado restaurants are up for the prestigious James Beard Awards. The 2019 list for the pinnacle of the industry was released last Wednesday.
Colorado has claimed top honors in the past, as Alex Seidal from Denver won Best Chef in the southwest region last year and a CSU professor Temple Grandin was honored with the Who's Who of Food & Beverage in America in 2016.
If you have never heard of the James Beard Foundation, they are a nonprofit foundation that strives to honor and celebrate America’s restaurants and chefs that keep America’s food culture alive, exciting and more sustainable. They give out awards for over 20 categories, including Best New Restaurant, Outstanding Service, Outstanding Pastry Chef and many more.  Making it on this list is a huge accomplishment and the lucky few restaurants and chefs who did make the semifinalist list include the following:
