60 Percent of Larimer County Residents Have Gotten COVID-19 Vaccine

A majority of eligible Larimer County residents have gotten a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce shared on Tuesday.

As of May 11, 2021, 60 percent of Larimer County residents have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine, so this doesn't mean that 60 percent of residents are fully vaccinated — yet. This also only takes into account residents over the age of 16. Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce is asking residents to get vaccinated and 'Drive to 65,' so we can 'Keep NoCo Open.'

This trend is reflected nationally, as 9NEWS reported that over 150 million Americans have gotten at least the first does of the COVID-19 vaccine, while a recent poll found that vaccine hesitancy is down.

Meanwhile, this is all of us in every social situation.

Right now, Larimer County is considered 'medium risk.' Per county data, the seven-day case rate per 100,000 is 115, which is down almost 30 percent from last week and considered low risk. The positivity rate in Larimer County is down from last week, too, at 3.7 percent. Anything under five percent is also considered low risk. Additionally, UCHealth and Banner ICU units are at 76 percent capacity, and anything under 80 percent lands in the low risk category.

However, there are currently 39 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, up from last week, which is considered medium risk.
