Governor Polis gave gyms the go-ahead to open in Larimer County, but 24 Hour Fitness could stay closed.

According to The Coloradoan, the fitness chain might file for bankruptcy after facing financial difficulties due to the pandemic.

However, the company told the publication that no clubs are permanently closing as of yet, noting that strategies are being considered "to ensure the long-term sustainability and success of 24 Hour Fitness."

There is no word yet on the fate of the company's Fort Collins facilities, located on College Avenue and Harmony Road, which closed on March 16.

Eric Holsapple, the owner of the College Ave. location, told The Coloradoan that he does not know when, or if, it will reopen.

Gyms that are reopening must operate under a multitude of restrictions, including limiting capacity to 50% and requiring all clients to wear face coverings.
