Back in February of 2021 it was announced that a reboot of the popular NBC sitcom Frasier would be coming to the Paramount+ streaming platform. But after that announcement, we hadn't heard much in the way of details or dates we might expect to actually see it.

On July 4th of this year, the show's star and title character Kelsey Grammer appeared on the talk show The Talk and hinted that production may actually finally begin this fall. He says he's read through the script and loved it so much it moved him to tears.

Grammer seems to waffle a little bit on details, leaving many to wonder whether it's happening at all.

Whether the series officially moves into production stages this fall remain to be seen, but in the meantime the details of what it might look like have been sketchy, to say the least. Aside from Grammer's public commitment to the project, none of the remaining cast from the original series has officially committed to appearing in it, nor have they explicitly said they wouldn't. In a nutshell, who's going to be in it if it happens, and whether or not it will continue the original story arc of the popular 90s and 00s tv show are clear as mud.

The ambiguity of it all has led one fan to create a pretty dark and twisted trailer for what the series COULD look like. It's so well done, it's definitely worth a minute of your time.

While clearly not a real trailer for a show that hasn't officially begun production, in some sick way it's nice to see all those faces together again in one piece, even if cut together from other separate appearances.

Of course, whether the new reboot of the show happens or not, one star certain not to be included - at least not in any new scenes - is Frasier and Niles' dad, Martin Crane. The eldest Crane was played by John Mahoney, who passed away in 2018 at age 77. Prior to his passing, his best tv buddy Eddie the dog - the Jack Russell Terrier whose actual name was Moose - passed away at age 16 in 2006.

As for the rest of the cast - David Hyde Pierce as Niles, Jane Leeves as Daphne or Peri Gilpin as Frasier's producer Roz - mums the word on whether or not any of them will participate. We'll just have to wait and see.
