Mexican Restaurant in Downtown Loveland, Colorado Closes
The following that this place has built up over their few years in business is a testament to how providing delicious, authentic Mexican food can bring success. They improved the site, as well, for whomever may move in next.
2 Amigos Cocina opened in Downtown Loveland in the spring of 2021. just south of First Street along Lincoln Avenue. The location had also been a Mexican restaurant, Antonio's, for many years prior to that.
2 Amigos Cocina's location at 116 South Lincoln in Downtown Loveland was home to Antonio's for many, many years.
You could easily miss 2 Amigos as you drove by; the building is pretty tiny.
Parking was an issue as well, but they did a lot of business with their burritos (especially breakfast burritos,) tacos, tamales, and other Mexican dishes.

I live in Downtown Loveland, and though I never got the chance to stop in, everybody who knew of 2 Amigos raved about the place. "Great breakfast burritos," was stated a lot. I'm disappointed with myself for not walking the half block from my door to theirs before they closed on January 24, 2025.
Respect for Family One of 2 Amigos Attributes
One of the things that was great about 2 Amigos is how they wouldn't put the business above family; they would often shutdown for a few days to a week, to be with their kids during holiday breaks.

I wouldn't be surprised that Downtown Loveland's homeless population was a part of their decision to move on. The Loveland Resource Center, where many homeless hang out, is almost right across the street from the restaurant.
It will be interesting to see what kind of business comes in next.
