What started as an accident involving six vehicles, quickly escalated into scores of them wrecking due to the hazardous conditions.

The accident began right along the same time that the bomb cyclone storm was getting underway. At around 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday (March 13, 2019), the Wellington Fire Protection District, and many other agencies from Larimer and Weld counties responded to a major pileup that in the end, involved 100 vehicles.

Luckily, there no fatalities in a wreck this size. Wellington Fire Protection District reports that there were only minor to serious injuries.
