A 76-year-old man has died following an incident in the Red Feather Lakes area, according to a Larimer County Sheriff's Office press release.

Just after 11:30 a.m. on September 17, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office received a report of an overturned kayak and a man in the water at Dowdy Lake. The man was not wearing a personal flotation device. LCSO emergency services, deputies, and medical personnel all responded to the scene.

Emergency responders pulled the man from the water and quickly began CPR. He was then transported via helicopter to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The man's name and cause of death will be released by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office at a later time. He was from Red Feather Lakes.
