Hard to believe isn't it?  That 1 in 4 Women and 1 in 6 Men have been sexually assaulted in Larimer County.  That is a statistic from The Sexual Assault Victims Advocate (SAVA) Center.  SAVA helped 600 local callers through their 24 hour rape crisis hotline in 2010.

The Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN) has the following national statistics on their website:

  • every 2 minutes, someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted
  • each year there are 213,000 victims of sexual assault
  • 44% of victims are under age 18
  • 80% are under age 30
