A 93-year-old World War II veteran has been reunited with his wartime girlfriend in Australia - over 70 years after saying goodbye. And yes, they'll be spending Valentine's Day together.

The vet, Norwood Thomas, traveled from Virginia to Adelaide to meet 88-year-old Joyce Morris.

"This is about the most wonderful thing that could have happened to me," Thomas said to Morris.

"Good," she replied. "We're going to have a wonderful fortnight."

They first met in London not long before D-Day when Morris was 17 and Thomas, a paratrooper, was 21.

Thomas exchanged letters with Morris when he returned to the United States - once asking her to come to the U.S. to marry him. However, she misunderstood and thought he had found someone else.

Time went on, and they both married other people. Thomas' wife passed away 15 years ago and Morris divorced her husband of 30 years.

The wartime lovers first reunited via Skype last year after one of Morris' sons helped track Thomas down through a newspaper article.
