Woman In Court For Teaching Her Parrot To Scream Profanities

A Rhode Island woman is in court because of a foul mouth. Not her own, mind you, but that of her obscenity-spewing parrot!
According to the Providence Journal two not-so neighborly women are in a feud. One of the woman claims the other taught her parrot to scream obscenities at her and call her dirty names. (She also alleges that she threw rocks at her house and threatened to drown her cat.)
Now the parrot owner is in court for violating the city’s animal-noise ordinance, but she is fighting it and saying the rule is vague and unconstitutional.
Yes, she is claiming her parrot has the constitutional right to say whatever it wants.
The non-parrot-owning neighbor claims that the dirty-mouthed bird is the reason they had to put their house up for sale.
Now, if you think this is blown out of proportion, I agree. If the dirty-bird’s owner loses in court, she’ll have to pay a fine of $15.
