Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories have been issued for portions of southeast Wyoming tonight into Friday.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne says possible thunderstorms could dump over a half an inch of rain on the area this afternoon.

The rain is expected to turn over to snow towards midnight, but it may turn earlier. If that happens, areas such as Cheyenne, Wheatland and Torrington could see significant snowfall.

As of now, the Service is predicting 2-4 inches of snow on the I-80 summit between Cheyenne and Laramie and 6-8 inches north of Lusk.

Those travelling across southeast Wyoming are advised to keep a close eye on the forecast and be ready for heavy, wet snow.
