Great news for anyone who has had a hankering to cool down in Windsor Lake, this afternoon The Town of Windsor and the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment have determined that Windsor Lake is safe to reopen to the public.

If you hadn't heard, Windsor Lake had been shut down for fear of bacteria making people sick. But this afternoon the Town Of Windsor posted this message:

8/2/12 4:40 pm - The Town of Windsor, in cooperation with the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment has determined that Windsor Lake is safe to reopen to the public. This includes the swim beach, boating and boat rentals.

This decision was made after review of additional water sampling results and after considering guidance from the State Health Department who confirmed that water samples met testing requirements.

Ingestion of untreated agricultural water such as Windsor Lake carries an inherent risk of possible exposure to pathogenic organisms. Individuals who have been ill are asked to refrain from entering the water.

This is great news for Windsor residents and just in the nick of time for tonight's installment of the Windsor Summer Concert Series!
