Jersey Shore star, Snooki, made an interesting claim in one of the show’s new episodes. She told her boyfriend she didn’t want to go in the ocean with him. Why? She says she hates the ocean and that it is too salty due to massive amounts of male whale’s reproductive fluids. (Only she said it in a much more colorful fashion).

First, let me say that I despise the show Jersey Shore. It infuriates me that these people are making millions of dollars to go party like brainless tools and makes me even angrier that they have become role-models for some. But I can never escape the cast making entertainment headlines every week. (Notice I won’t call them news headlines)

To make her witless explanation of salty sea-water even worse she then urged fans to go look it up.

“Everybody Google it, because that's why the water is salty. ****ing whale sperm!”

Read the whole story from MTV.com.

Shorty after the show first aired the terms “Why is the ocean salty?" and "Whale sperm” were atop the Google trends. Millions of people took to the Internet to see if Snooki was right. Was she? Of course not.

The ocean is salty because there is salt in it. Salt from rocks. If you want the full scientific answer you can read about it from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Listening to the thoughts that come out of her mouth is like watching a car wreck. You can’t turn away, but you can’t believe it is happening. And when all is said and done, you wished you hadn’t. That’s pretty much the way I feel after reading any story about Jersey Shore. How can someone with so little going on between their ears be in such high demand?!

Sadly, it makes me yearn for the days when Paris Hilton was the most ditzy celebrity we had to deal with. Ugh.
