Today is National Buy a Doughnut Day. Yes, there really is such a thing. Of course, we probably didn’t need excuse to eat them, but it is a good excuse to celebrate them. Who has the best doughnuts in Northern Colorado?
I have always said I have two weaknesses, doughnuts and ice cream. It’s true, and for four days out of every year I get to celebrate. There are three other doughnut holidays besides the one we celebrate today, the origins of which are obscure. International Jelly-Filled Doughnut Day is widely recognized as June 8 (occasionally as June 9). National Cream-Filled Doughnut Day is celebrated on September 14.And, the Christmas of doughnut holidays, National Doughnut Day, is on the first Friday of June each year.
