If you're planning on driving on highway 34 this weekend, you might want to prepare for some delays. The Union Pacific Railroad and the Colorado Department of Transportation are replacing the railroad crossing and the pavement just east of Centerra Parkway and will be closing down lanes during the road work.

According to the Greeley Tribune both westbound lanes  of U.S. 34 will be closed from 7 am Saturday (4/21) until 7 pm Sunday (4/22). Traffic will run in the area of HWY 34 with one lane of the eastbound lanes going east, the other going west. No trucks will be allowed east of Interstate 25 either, meaning some nearby county roads could see a lot more traffic as well.

Significant delays should be expected and alternative routes are advised for all motorists.
