Well the summer is just about here, which means that Wedding Season is also here!  Whether you are recently engaged, or almost tying the knot, congratulations!

So, some of you may or may not know this, but not only am I a Radio Personality, but I also DJ weddings, corporate events, and so much more.

I thought it would be fitting to share some of my years of experience and knowledge to help you make an informed decision on one of the most important aspects of the big day.  Please keep in mind these are tips are geared more towards a DJ vs. a band.

Here are my two cents, or um tips:

Cocktail Hour/Dinner Music: This is background music.  People want to be able to talk during this time and not have to shout.  It's a time for people to catch up with family and friends.  But the background music is important, as it controls the feeling in the room.  Stay away from slow music during this time.  It's not an elevator!  Choose genres or songs that are mid-tempo, toe-tapping songs.  This tends to give your guests the itch to dance, and they will, even in their chairs.

Dancing (The Party):  Maybe you are wanting a high energy crazy dance party, or just a fun party atmosphere.  Your requests can determine this outcome in a positive way, or worse yet, a negative way.  Keep in mind that when you are requesting songs for your DJ to play to dance to, not all songs are created equal.  There are some songs that are great to sing along to in the shower or while you are driving, but they are hard to dance to.

So there are a few tips for you for your special day coming up.  Everyone has different ideas, or interpretations, so these are just some tips that I thought would be helpful to share with you.
