Two sight-impaired students at the University of Northern Colorado were struck by a truck when they unknowingly stepped out into an intersection of 11th Avenue and 22nd Street in Greeley.

On Monday night (November 3), Zach Dreicer and Maria Madrigal Luz were attempting to cross the street and stepped out in front of a truck due to the audible signal for the visually impaired was not working. The driver had a green light and did not have enough time to react when the two victims stepped out in front of his truck.

According to the Greeley Tribune, Dreicer suffered minor injuries. However, Luz incurred a head injury and will surgery.
