According to ABC 7/Denver, two safety recalls have been issued by the Ford Motor Company which could affect close to 400,000 motorists.

The first recall has to do with the potential for the loss of electric power steering assist while in the operation of the vehicle. This could result in difficult steering which would be more noticeable at slower speeds.

That recall affects the following vehicle models:

  • Certain 2011 - 2013 Ford Taurus and Ford Flex vehicles
  • Lincoln MKS and MKT vehicles
  • Certain 2011 - 2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles
  • Certain 2011 Mercury Milan vehicles

No injuries have been reported or connected to this issue.

The other recall is smaller in comparison of the number of people affected. It involves 2015 Ford Mustang vehicles with the potential of elevated underbody temperatures.

The automaker says prolonged exposure to elevated underbody temperatures might cause degradation of the fuel tank. This could eventually result in a fuel leak. Affected vehicles include some 2015 Ford Mustangs built Feb 14, 2014 to Feb 10, 2015 at Flat Rock Assembly Plant.

No injuries or accidents have been reported involving this defect as well.
