Travel in Vacuum Tubes!- Say “What!?”

You know those tubes that are in the bank drive thru? You know the ones that take that little cylinder with all of your info and suck it up and deliver it inside? Well, that may become the new way to travel! It is called Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) and it is an airless, frictionless form of transport which, its designers say, is safer, cheaper and quieter than trains or airplanes. Basically you would hop in a six person cylinder and you would be "shot" towards your destination at speeds that could reach up to 4,000 mph. Essentially this means you could go from New York to L.A. in about 45min or all the way around the world in 6 hours. 6 HOURS!

The designers behind the project claim that it would be cheap to build. A quarter of the cost of highways! And despite the speed travelers would only feel minimal g-force.
