This just doesn’t sound like a good idea to me, but Joe D’Amico from Illinois plans to beat his previous time in the Los Angeles marathon after eating nothing but the Golden Arches for 30 days. Okay, so there is some good to it because he's raising money for charity, but nothing but fast food as part of your workout regimen?!

You can read the whole story from Fox News. For the 30 days leading up to the race D’Amico will eat nothing but foods from McDonald’s and do a lot of running.

“The daily menu for the lean D'Amico consists of a serving of hotcakes and an Egg McMuffin for breakfast, a grilled chicken sandwich and a large Coke for lunch, and a hamburger and fries for dinner.”

If you have ever seen the documentary “Supersize Me” you can see a guy who eats nothing but McDonald’s gain 20 pounds and start having some serious health problems. Although that guy wasn’t running 100 miles a week, and from what I remember he was eating bigger portions and trying everything on the menu.

D’Amico says his training is going great and that he feels good. His doctor, however,  says this regimen is not ideal for a distance runner. No kidding.

McDonald’s must be loving all the press they are getting out of these, even though they are not sponsoring him at all. And apparently D’amico plans to donate $1 for every fan of his McRunner Facebook page to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

That’s nice to see someone using their publicity for a good cause. Hopefully his body can handle the fast food and distance running diet regimen. I sure don't think mine could.  than again I don't think I could run a marathon...scratch that, I don't WANT to run one.
