A pedestrian has died after being struck by the train traveling from Cheyenne Frontier Days to Denver on Saturday night (July 21). 

The train is a historic Union Pacific steam engine that carries passengers to and from Cheyenne Frontier Days every summer, but last night around 7:45 p.m., according to The Denver Channel, a pedestrian was hit near HWY 85 and 124th Ave. in Brighton.

Union Pacific tweeted:

UP No. 844 was involved in a pedestrian fatality. Busses are en route to pick up guests on board the train. UP Police will be on scene for several hours assisting local authorities with the investigation.
